Harvesting

Fresh tea leaves grown on high-mountain small farms are picked by hand. The tea leaves for producing Milk Oolong tea can be harvested around the year.

Withering

Once the tea leaves are harvested, they are withered overnight in a cool but humid room. The fresh tea leaves are spread out on mats to remove excess moisture.

Oxidation

After being evenly withered, the tea leaves are tossed to be gently bruised and exposed inner cells to the air. This step results in the oxidation of the tea leaves. In particular, tea leaves are oxidized in a controlled-temperature environment, ensuring that they achieve the desired flavors and aroma.

Twisting & Sorting

People can use hands or machines to manipulate the tea leaves and twist them into a semi-balled shape, preparing for the sorting step after that.

Roasting

The sorted tea is fired to remove excess moisture and coax out more of the delicate flavors. This final step plays an important role in determining the floral and sweet cream aroma, milky flavor, and a beautifully silky texture of Milk Oolong tea.

Storage

The tea should be preserved in a cool and airy space to protect the quality of the tea product as well as maintain its flavor, aroma, and hue.
