What is Jiaogulan Tea? 

Jiaogulan Tea is a type of tea made directly from the leaves, branches and stems of the Jiaogulan plant. Based on the shape of the leaves, there are 3 types of Jiaogulan: 3-leaf, 5-leaf and 7-leaf Jiaogulan. Among them, the 5-leaf Jiaogulan is said to have the best healing effect and is used popularly to make tea.

How to use Jiaogulan Tea: Put 20g of dried Jiaogulan in a kettle and pour boiling water into it. You can drink Jiaogulan tea instead of boiled water every day.

How to use Jiaogulan with other medicinal herbs: Put the cassava cauliflower (20g), Jiaogulan and muskewers (30g each) into a jar or kettle, then pour into 1.5 liters of boiling water and incubate for about 30 minutes.

Is jiaogulan a kind of green tea? Although they are different species (gynostemma & camellia sinensis), they both have similar advantages and taste. It contains no caffeine and is unlikely to trigger the adverse effects associated with stimulant usage.

You can use Jiaogulan tea daily with the dosage 60 – 70 g/day. When brewing, you should wash Jiaogulan once to remove all impurities and the aroma of tea will be more attractive.

  • Free-Caffeinated Jiaogulan Tea: 100% made from Jiaogulan plant.

All parts of the Jiaogulan plant can be used to make tea. These parts, after being harvested, are washed, dried at a sunny temperature of about 2 to 3 days, then stored in plastic bags. This variety of herbal tea is inherently caffeine-free when turned into tea, whereas green tea is. It tastes somewhat bittersweet, like black or green tea.

This 100% pure tea is often expensive, also the quantity is small.

  • Caffeinated Jiaogulan Tea: is a mixture of Jiaogulan plant & green tea or some other herbs. 

Jiaogulan has a slightly bitter taste, so to make it easy for consumers to use, it is often mixed with green tea or other herbs such as stevia, muskwort, etc. The blend will contain a certain amount of caffeine, which is extracted from green tea leaves. But the price is cheaper and the taste also more familiar to consumers.
