2. Grades of black tea that FGC can provide
First of all, black tea has two main processing methods that are Orthodox and CTC. Therefore, to avoid overcomplication, we will first only talk about Orthodox Black Tea in this post.
Orthodox black tea grades are primarily about classifying the size of the tea leaf. The size can range from whole leaf (pekoe) to dust (used in tea bags). Generally, the grades are categorized into 4 grades, including whole leaf, broken leaf, fannings, and dust type grades.

3. Vietnamese black tea manufacturing process
Unlike the processing of green tea which does not need to go through the fermentation stage, but totally destroys yeast and dries tea, black tea is processed through many stages including fermentation to create biochemical changes that make the finished black tea product has its own unique taste, color and liquor and natural black color in appearance.
Fermentation is the most important stage in processing Vietnamese black tea. Necessary conditions: 24 -26 degrees, air humidity: 98%, time needed from 3 to 3.5 hours.
The process of producing Vietnamese black tea is through the following basic steps:
Selecting freshest green tea leaves – Withering – Grinding tea – Fermentation – Drying – Sorting and classifying tea grades – Packing and store.
